Abstract: The role of gastroscopy to investigate the upper gastrointestinal (UGI) tract in subjects with positive faecal occult blood test (FOBT+) is controversial. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis, which aimed to determine the prevalence of UGI lesions in FOBT+ subjects.
