Title: | Utilising the Alexis Retractor for lateral orbital access, a case series | Authors: | Sullivan, T. Wong, Y. Lee, P. |
Issue Date: | 2018 | Source: | 37, (6), 2018, p. 447-449 | Pages: | 447-449 | Journal: | Orbit (London) | Abstract: | Lateral orbital surgery is challenging and typically involves the use of multiple traction sutures and retractors. This case series describes a novel technique utilising the Alexis retractor to provide access for lateral orbital surgery. Thirteen cases were included and the surgical technique has been described and illustrated. There were no post-operative infections or complications and the Alexis retractor provided excellent exposure whilst reducing the need for further surgical retractors.L6203634472018-01-31 | DOI: | 10.1080/01676830.2017.1423361 | Resources: | https://www.embase.com/search/results?subaction=viewrecord&id=L620363447&from=exporthttp://dx.doi.org/10.1080/01676830.2017.1423361 | | Keywords: | human;lateral orbital surgery;lateral orbitotomy;meningioma;middle aged;neurilemoma;orbit tumor;orbital schwannoma;patient satisfaction;postoperative period;eye surgery;excision;endocrine ophthalmopathy;clinical article;surgical technique;follow up;alexis retractor;aged;retractoradult;article | Type: | Article |
