Abstract: Chronic groin pain is a common problem in athletes, especially those involved in sports that require repeated kicking or rapid change in direction, in these athlete it may where it may account for 5-7% of all injuries. Athletic pubalgia is often used to describe exertional groin or pubic pain that may be secondary to a number of different conditions. Athletes may have more than one of these co existing conditions and there is often considerable overlap in symptoms and examination findings which makes diagnosis difficult. (1) This talk will focus on the relevant anatomy and high quality image acquisition of the pubic symphysis and surrounding supporting structures. It will then cover common causes of pain including symphyseal disk degeneration, stress fractures, adjacent tendon pathology, 'sports hernia' and nerve entrapments. Learning objectives: Review the structural and functional Anatomy of the pubic symphysis and surrounding structures. Discuss common causes of groin pain and their relevant imaging findings.L612893742
