Title: | Bloody nipple discharge in a three-month-old formula-fed infant | Authors: | Boyd, G. Goddard, L. Perry, C. Kimble, R. |
Issue Date: | 2021 | Source: | 73 , 2021 | Journal: | Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports | Abstract: | Bloody nipple discharge in infancy and childhood is a rare clinical finding. Most pediatric cases of bloody nipple discharge have been attributed to mammary duct ectasia. We present the case of a three-month-old exclusively formula-fed male infant with bilateral bloody nipple discharge as a result of mammary duct ectasia. With bilateral spontaneous resolution occurring after a total period of five months, this report highlights the self-limiting nature of bloody nipple discharge resulting from mammary duct ectasia in infancy.L20139424782021-08-12 | DOI: | 10.1016/j.epsc.2021.101975 | Resources: | https://www.embase.com/search/results?subaction=viewrecord&id=L2013942478&from=exporthttp://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.epsc.2021.101975 | | Keywords: | male;pediatrics;remission;infancy;human;infant;female;lesions and defects;breast discharge;articleboy;clinical article;case report;breast duct | Type: | Article |
