|Site name:||Respiratory and Sleep Unit Research Group||Service Category:||Clinical Trial Site||Description of service:||The Respiratory and Sleep Unit Research group has multiple projects which collectively aim to detect disease in small airways earlier, and demonstrate increased sensitivity and specificity of disease severity grading. These studies will thereby direct clinical management strategies to ultimately improve patient outcomes. Current research aims to better understand the immunological and microbial mechanisms which drive structural and physiological changes within the small airways, including trialling of novel and less established techniques within a respiratory laboratory.|
